Park Jin "Meeting with Sung Kim... Discussing US-ROK Cooperation Measures to Respond to North Korean Threats"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Park Jin, the nominee for Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated on the 19th that he would meet with Sung Kim, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Affairs at the State Department, who is visiting Korea, to "discuss ways for close cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. in response to North Korea's threats."
On his way to the confirmation hearing preparation office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Park informed reporters of his plan to meet with Representative Sung Kim and made the remarks.
He is scheduled to meet with Kim, who is visiting for a 4-night, 5-day trip, on the morning of the 20th.

During the meeting, discussions are also expected regarding the early South Korea-U.S. summit, estimated to take place in late next month. Park said, "If the early summit is held, it will naturally include discussions on what kind of response measures South Korea and the U.S. should take regarding the North Korea issue."
