Samsung Heavy Industries stated that since 2020, it has successfully carried out construction of next-generation semiconductor circuit pattern process extreme ultraviolet (EUV) factories and pilot (trial production) factories for P2L and P3L. This was achieved by leveraging its expertise in automatic welding and modular construction methods (large-scale) accumulated through shipbuilding and offshore plant construction. A Samsung Heavy Industries official said, "We plan to continue securing semiconductor construction contracts to establish a foundation for business diversification beyond the shipbuilding and offshore sectors."
