Daejeon City Launches Pilot Operation of 'Advance Notification Service' for Illegal Parking Enforcement
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 18th that it will officially operate the ‘Integrated Pre-Notification Service for Illegal Parking Enforcement’ starting from the 1st of next month.
The notification service is provided to give vehicle owners an opportunity to move their vehicles before enforcement is carried out in areas monitored by fixed CCTV and mobile CCTV. It works by sending enforcement alerts to drivers of parked vehicles via text message, push app notifications, and KakaoTalk, encouraging them to relocate their vehicles.
The notification service can be accessed with a one-time membership registration. However, enforcement conducted through bus-mounted CCTV (city buses, city hall driving vehicles), the Safe Report app, or by personnel such as police officers is excluded from this service.
Registration is available through the smartphone app store by searching for ‘ParkingBell’ or via the website.
The city also links the notification service with the ‘Smart Parking Sharing Service’ to provide users (drivers) with information about parking lots near enforcement areas for added convenience.
Through this, the city expects to prevent illegal parking and ensure smooth vehicle flow.
