Seoul National University of Science and Technology Mechanical and Information Engineering Student Research Team Selected for WISET Graduate Women Engineering Research Team Support Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] A research team composed of students from the Department of Mechanical and Information Engineering at the University of Seoul announced on the 15th that they have been selected for the advanced course of the 'Graduate Women Engineering Research Team Support Project' by the Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology Foundation (WISET).
This project supports female graduate students conducting engineering research to carry out self-directed research projects as principal investigators. Selected teams receive research funding of 8 million KRW per team for seven months, from this month until October. A total of 110 teams for the advanced course and 40 teams for the general course were selected nationwide.
The University of Seoul's Department of Mechanical and Information Engineering research team was selected for this project with the theme "MPC-based driving control research for autonomous vehicles through omnidirectional object recognition." They plan to conduct research to improve the accuracy of surrounding environment recognition of autonomous vehicles while enhancing control performance such as driving, overtaking, and stopping.
