Ministry of the Interior and Safety Communication Collaboration Space 'Commons Field' Wins Grand Prize
Winner of Two Major Awards Including Last Year's Red Dot Main Prize Among the World's Top 3 Design Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 17th that the joint brand of regional hub communication and cooperation spaces, 'COMMONZ FIELD,' won the main prize (winner) in the communication category at the 2022 iF Design Award.
This award from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety follows the main prize at the 2021 Red Dot Design Award, achieving the rare feat of winning two of the world's top three design awards, a distinction seldom seen even among private companies. This year, the award was selected after fierce competition among over 11,000 entries from 57 countries worldwide.
The 'regional hub communication and cooperation spaces' project has been promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since 2018. It transforms idle local spaces into community innovation hubs where residents, public and private sectors, industry, and academia collaboratively identify and seek solutions to local issues in daily life.
The joint brand of communication and cooperation spaces, 'COMMONZ FIELD,' combines the key concept of regional vitality, 'Commons,' with 'Field,' meaning site or area.
Meanwhile, COMMONZ FIELD has been recognized not only for the excellence of its brand design but also for its achievements in public administration, having been introduced as a best practice by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at last year's United Nations (UN) Asia-Pacific Regional International Symposium.
