LH Gwangju Jeonnam 'Dong·Seojak Public Redevelopment Project' Kickoff
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters is initiating the resident consent process to implement the 'Dong-Seojak Public Redevelopment,' the first public redevelopment project in the local region.
The project site covers 85,809㎡ around 1256 Usan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and was designated and announced as the 'Dong-Seojak Redevelopment Maintenance Zone' on the 15th.
This area had inconveniences for residents due to aging housing and narrow roads. Since July 2019, when LH signed a business agreement with Gwangsan-gu and Gwangju Metropolitan City for public redevelopment, it has taken 2 years and 9 months to achieve the significant milestone of zone designation.
With the designation of the maintenance zone, LH has secured the status of the public project implementer.
To be officially designated as the project implementer from the status of the public project implementer, LH must obtain consent forms regarding the designation of the public implementer from at least two-thirds of the landowners.
Accordingly, LH is starting the resident consent process and plans to meet residents' expectations by achieving visible results such as designation as the project implementer, completion of the resident representative meeting formation by July, and selection of a major contractor within the year through continuous project promotion and briefings.
If the project proceeds smoothly, by 2027, the maintenance zone area will be transformed into a large residential complex with approximately 1,300 households.
