Japanese Media "South Korea-US Summit Coordinated for Next Month 21st"... Transition Team "Nothing Decided"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The transition team stated on the 15th that it "cannot confirm" reports by Japanese media that U.S. President Joe Biden will visit South Korea before Japan late next month and hold a South Korea-U.S. summit on the 21st.
Won Il-hee, the chief deputy spokesperson of the transition team, said at the regular briefing that afternoon, "There is nothing confirmed regarding discussions about the first South Korea-U.S. summit with President Biden," adding, "The date of the 21st itself is not currently being discussed or considered."
Earlier, Japan's private broadcaster JNN reported that President Biden is coordinating to visit South Korea before attending the Quad summit held in Tokyo late next month and hold a South Korea-U.S. summit on the 21st.

If the South Korea-U.S. summit takes place, it would be the earliest summit held between the two countries among all past administrations. JNN also reported that President Biden plans to stay in South Korea for one night and two days before visiting Japan to hold a Japan-U.S. summit with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
