Ministry of Foreign Affairs "Full-scale Supply of Goods to Our Citizens in Blockaded Shanghai"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 15th that it has taken measures to protect Korean nationals in relation to the lockdown in the Shanghai area of China.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Despite the easing of quarantine measures in Shanghai, some areas remain under lockdown," and added, "The Ministry is closely monitoring the situation and focusing its efforts on resolving difficulties faced by our nationals in the prolonged lockdown zones."
The Consulate General in Shanghai secured two vehicle permits for transporting supplies from Shanghai authorities on the 14th and plans to actively provide supplies to Korean nationals in need through a public-private joint response team in collaboration with the Shanghai Korean Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the Consulate General actively negotiated with Shanghai school authorities to support the safe return of 26 Korean international students to Korea.
