Cha Seung-hoon, deputy spokesperson of the Transition Committee, said at a briefing held at the committee's office in Tongui-dong, Seoul, on the morning of the same day, "The Transition Committee requested the Board of Audit and Inspection to contribute to the normalization of public institutions through systematic inspections of the management status of public institutions."
The Transition Committee received a business report from the Board of Audit and Inspection on the 25th of last month. At that time, the Board of Audit and Inspection reported that it would expand financial soundness inspections to resolve insolvency and reckless management of public institutions, and focus on inspecting chronic misconduct and internal controls within public institutions to take high-intensity measures, the Transition Committee explained.
Deputy spokesperson Cha added, "There was also a report about strengthening year-round, continuous audits on personnel recruitment corruption and power abuse."
