AR App 'Moduui Mongchontoseong' Launches on 30th... On-site Demonstration on 16th
Selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's '2021 Smart Museum and Art Gallery Infrastructure Development Project' and Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Mongchon History Museum, affiliated with the Hansung Baekje Museum, announced on the 15th that it plans to launch the Mongchon Toseong Smart App service, which provides augmented reality technology-based information on the Mongchon Toseong site within Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul, starting on the 30th. Prior to this, an on-site demonstration to improve user satisfaction will be held on the 16th.
The smart app, Everyone's Mongchon Toseong, was developed through selection in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s “2021 Smart Museum and Art Gallery Infrastructure Project.” Seoul’s Mongchon Toseong (Historic Site No. 297) is a royal fortress site from the Baekje Hansung capital period, located inside Olympic Park in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, alongside the Pungnap-dong Earthen Fortress (Historic Site No. 11).
Everyone's Mongchon Toseong is a comprehensive guide app containing all information about Mongchon Toseong. It was developed to allow users to check explanations corresponding to each point at the actual historical site where relics and artifacts were excavated, and to play linked story-type games. Through this, it aims to leverage the advantages and synergy effects of an on-site museum set against the 70,000-pyeong Mongchon Toseong, enhancing accessibility and interest in the museum.
The on-site demonstration on the 16th, ahead of the official launch on the 30th, will focus on adjusting the difficulty of content and the augmented reality (AR) implementation method to suit the perspective of citizens, targeting primarily students and teachers who are the main users of the app. Elementary school teachers and instructors will be involved in this review to increase satisfaction.
