Coupang Local Small Business Support Program Participants Achieve 69% Sales Growth
Support for Advertising and Promotional Activities through Coupang-Local Government Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 14th that the sales of companies participating in its ongoing regional small and medium-sized business (SMB) support project grew by 69% over the past year.
Coupang collaborates with local governments to support marketing efforts such as discount promotions and advertising expenses for products from small and medium-sized businesses and agricultural, fishery, and livestock producers, providing opportunities to expand nationwide sales channels through Coupang's nationwide distribution network.
Last year, the sales of regional SMBs participating in Coupang's regional SMB support project increased by 69% compared to the previous year. This figure is 15 percentage points higher than Coupang's overall growth rate of 54% last year. In contrast, nationwide SMB sales, as reported by Korea Credit Data (KCD), decreased by 1.7%. In particular, Jeonbuk region, which held a product evaluation meeting and marketing support for SMBs during the Jeonju International Fermentation Food Expo in August, showed a growth rate of 82%.
