Changwon City, Gyeongnam, will provide groceries and COVID-19 self-test kits to 830 low-income disabled households in celebration of Disability Day on April 20.

Starting this year, the city operates the Changwon City Hope Jun Day (DAY) project, which sets a theme each month to support low-income households with various classes and needs by providing donations and goods.
In April, to commemorate Disabled Persons Day, goods and donations will be provided to 830 low-income disabled households recommended by welfare officials in eup, myeon, and dong and members of the local community security council.
Hope Sharing Boxes containing groceries will be provided to 230 low-income severely disabled homebound individuals, and the cost of purchasing COVID-19 self-test kits will be given to 600 low-income mildly disabled homebound individuals.
The city has signed an agreement with the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea for the efficient operation of Hope Dream Changwon Bank to assist low-income disabled persons and other households facing livelihood difficulties.
Hope Dream Changwon Bank supports households in crisis due to livelihood difficulties and public-private cooperation projects based on private resources raised from individuals, companies, and organizations.
Citizens who wish to donate money or goods can inquire at the Changwon City Social Welfare Division's Hope Welfare Department to receive guidance on donation methods.

Lee Seonhee, Director of the Welfare, Women, and Health Bureau, said, "To provide a small help to homebound disabled persons, we decided to support goods purchased from facilities producing products by severely disabled persons and the cost of purchasing COVID-19 test kits," adding, "We will strive to create a city where disabled persons can live well by promoting policies necessary for creating a disabled-friendly city."
