Seoul Eunpyeong Hospital Daycare Ward Conducts 'Hospital-Based Peer Activist Program'
Establishing a Virtuous Cycle Mental Health System Through Social Participation of Individuals with Mental Illness
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 12th, Seoul Eunpyeong Hospital's day ward announced that it will newly implement the 'Hospital-Based Peer Activist Project' to promote social participation of individuals recovering from mental illness.
Peer activists are individuals who have experienced mental illness and, based on their own experiences, participate in the recovery process of other patients to support their recovery.
Participants in the peer activist project will complete a 100-hour training course to become professional peer activists. They will also serve as volunteers at Eunpyeong Hospital, assisting in the day ward as 'mental rehabilitation program helpers.'
The recruitment period is from the 4th to the 15th, and after submitting applications and undergoing interviews, the final trainees will be selected. Detailed information can be found on the Seoul Eunpyeong Hospital website.
The training course lasts for three months (May to July) and is composed of various mental health experts, including psychiatrists, mental health nurses, mental health social workers, clinical psychologists, and pharmacists, providing high-quality education.
