A man in his 40s falls to death while free climbing without equipment on Surisan Mountain
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] A man in his 40s who was free solo climbing without equipment on Surisan Mountain in Gunpo City, Gyeonggi Province, fell about 10 meters and died.
According to the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 11th, Mr. A fell while rock climbing at Maebawi on Surisan Mountain at around 11:10 a.m. the previous day.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene within about 10 minutes after the report, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and transported Mr. A to the hospital by fire helicopter, but he ultimately died.
At the time of the accident, Mr. A was reportedly free solo climbing, ascending the rock without safety ropes or other equipment.
