The provincial education office visited four schools within the province, starting from Namji Girls' Middle School in Changnyeong-gun, to observe the space innovation sites and hear about the innovation project processes.
They selected Namji Girls' Middle School in Changnyeong-gun, Sinwol Elementary School and Yangdeok Middle School in Masan, Changwon City, and Milju Elementary School in Miryang City, based on prior recommendations from project managers on which schools they wished to visit among existing space innovation targets.
Kim Yong-gon, a teacher at Namji Middle School who was in charge of school space at Namji Girls' Middle School in Changnyeong, introduced the school space restructuring project "Space Class," which started from democratic citizenship education.
He explained that they restructured two first-grade classrooms from the perspective of spatial sovereignty for students and teachers, and transformed the entrance hall, filled with shoe racks and trophies, into a cafe-style "Neulpum" space.
The training was organized to enhance overall understanding of the school space innovation process and to provide insights into transforming the existing supplier-centered standardized facilities into flexible and diverse spaces.
Project managers from 37 target schools participated, including those involved in the ▲Area Unit (School Autonomous) Space Innovation Project ▲Gyeongnam-type Space Innovation Project ▲First Grade Classroom Space Innovation Project, which were open for applications by the Gyeongnam Office of Education this year.
