Gwangju Mayor Candidates Lee Yong-seop and Kang Ki-jung Receive Continued Endorsements

On the 11th, according to local political circles, cultural and artistic figures in the Gwangju area held a press conference at the Gwangju City Council, stating, "Through the cultural and artistic philosophy advocated by candidate Kang Ki-jung, we will be able to find a new cultural city Gwangju, a Gwangju where everyday life becomes art, and a Gwangju that thrives on culture and the arts," expressing their support for candidate Kang.
The previous day, young people including Gwangju university students, young entrepreneurs, and cultural and artistic workers expressed their support for candidate Kang, saying, "He will transform Gwangju into a 'city of possibilities and opportunities.'"
A support group for candidate Kang, composed of women and childcare educators in Gwangju, held an inauguration ceremony on the 6th, declaring, "We will create a safe city, a city of jobs, a caregiving community city, and a city where women and families are happy."
Declarations of support for candidate Lee Yong-seop have also continued.
Local small business owners, at candidate Lee’s campaign office on the same day, stated their reasons for support, saying, "We want to revive small businesses and create a Gwangju where all citizens are happy."
They emphasized, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we are facing the crisis of closures and bankruptcies. We need the right person to solve this. Instead of hollow politics and conflict, we need a mayor with extensive administrative experience who can revive the grassroots economy through policies and systems."
Kim Myung-sun, standing committee member of the 'Citizen Camp Brighter Future Committee' directly under the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, held a support press conference at candidate Lee’s campaign office on the 10th, stating, "The 'bigger and stronger Gwangju' that candidate Lee Yong-seop is completing will become the frontline base for the Democratic Party to regain power in the future."
