Gwangju Seo-gu, Gwangdeok High School Represents Korea at World Robot Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City recently visited and encouraged the students of the software club ‘Osopeu’ at Gwangdeok High School, located in the district, who will represent South Korea at the World Robot Contest.
According to Seo-gu on the 11th, since 2020, Gwangdeok High School has been operating a robot-making class for students aspiring to become robotic engineers, supported by educational expense subsidies from Seo-gu.
They have consistently participated in the Korea Robot Championship, achieving an excellent result by ranking 3rd overall among 29 teams nationwide in February.
Riding on this momentum, they will represent South Korea at the World Robot Contest held in Houston, Texas, USA, from the 20th to the 23rd.
The World Robot Contest is the largest competition in the world for students, and Gwangdeok High School is the first general high school in the Gwangju area to participate.
Seo-gu supports educational activities in fields such as 4th industrial revolution utilization programs, school-specific specialized education, student club activities, and cultural, arts, and physical education programs through annual educational expense subsidy projects to foster a creative educational environment and revitalize public education.
A Seo-gu official said, “We will continue to actively support various school education programs so that students can pursue their dreams and grow into future talents.”
