Namyangju Jinbeolli Wildfire Extinguished After 19 Hours... Over 3ha of Forest Damaged

With sunrise at 6 AM that day, the forestry authorities resumed firefighting operations by deploying 10 helicopters and 323 personnel, including wildfire suppression teams, and managed to control the main fire within three hours, continuing to carry out mop-up operations.
The authorities estimated that more than 3 hectares of forestland were damaged by this wildfire. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are under investigation.

Meanwhile, the wildfire that occurred inside the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Baekhak-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, at 2:01 PM on the 9th is still undergoing firefighting efforts on the second day. The authorities deployed three helicopters for firefighting operations that day but are facing difficulties due to restricted access.
