Ministry of the Interior and Safety Selects 350 Participants for Youth Talent Development Program
Recruiting Youth to Lead the Digital Transformation Era by Enhancing Data Analysis Skills
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] They are recruiting 350 young people to develop data analysis capabilities and lead the digital transformation era.
On the 10th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it will recruit and select applicants for the '2022 Data Analysis Youth Talent Development Project' from the 11th to May 2nd.
The Data Analysis Youth Talent Development Project was established to provide young people with data analysis education and opportunities to gain practical experience at public institutions, as data utilization capabilities have become increasingly important in both public and private sectors recently. From 2019 to 2021, a total of 8,802 young people applied for recruitment, demonstrating high interest among youth, and 1,585 young people were placed and active in public institutions.
The young people participating in this recruitment will be finally selected through basic competency evaluation, document screening, and interviews according to the number of recruits in each region. Especially from this year, participants can choose the region for professional training courses considering their place of residence.
The finally selected young people will strengthen their basic competencies through customized preliminary education according to their level and receive about 400 hours of professional training. The professional training will be conducted as practice-oriented education including data analysis project planning, analysis techniques, use of analysis models, and execution of practical research projects.
After completing the training, the young people will be assigned to their desired institutions among more than 160 administrative and public institutions nationwide to perform and support data analysis tasks for six months.

Park Deok-su, Director of Public Data Policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, “As digital transformation accelerates across society and the economy, many field-customized talents in the data sector must be nurtured,” and added, “We will do our best to be a stepping stone for young people to grow into data experts in various fields.”
