View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] The Ministry of Justice has reportedly presented the Presidential Transition Committee with a 'Priority Review Opinion on Establishing a Child Abuse Prevention System.'
According to the Transition Committee on the 8th, the Ministry of Justice stated in its work report that when abuse occurs within a family, instead of placing the child victim in a childcare facility, measures should be taken to separate the perpetrator from the family.
Along with this, the Ministry proposed an implementation plan that includes holding case management meetings between probation offices and child protection agencies to identify high-risk families, and having probation officers and child protection agency staff accompany each other to conduct on-site inspections and check the condition of the abused child in high-risk families.
The Ministry of Justice also plans to consider measures such as adding provisions for habitual abusers to the 'Child Abuse Punishment Act' and filing petitions for the loss of parental rights against habitual child abusers.

In response, the Transition Committee explained, "Since establishing a comprehensive child abuse prevention system centered on children's human rights is a campaign pledge of the President-elect, we will prepare comprehensive action plans by reviewing various alternative measures, including building an integrated child abuse prevention system through strengthened cooperation with local governments and related agencies."
