US Special Envoy for North Korea: "North Korea May Conduct Taeyangjeol Provocation... Possible Missile or Nuclear Test"
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] Sung Kim, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea at the State Department, stated on the 6th (local time) that North Korea may carry out additional provocations such as ballistic missile launches or nuclear tests around the upcoming Day of the Sun on the 15th.
According to the State Department, during a phone briefing that day, in response to a question expressing concern that North Korea might provoke on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Day of the Sun, Kim replied, "I don’t want to speculate too much, but it could be another missile launch or a nuclear test." This confirmed that they are closely monitoring the possibility that North Korea may increase the intensity of its show of force by conducting additional intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launches or nuclear tests.
