[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Yoon Ho-jung, Co-Chairman of the Emergency Response Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized, "Following the prosecution's search and seizure of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, which clearly had the intention of political retaliation, the police are now conducting an 'attack on Lee Jae-myung' investigation." This remark was interpreted as targeting the prosecution investigating the Ministry's personnel blacklist allegations and the police conducting search and seizure related to Kim Hye-kyung's 'corporate card misuse suspicion.'
On the 6th, Yoon held an Emergency Response Committee meeting at the National Assembly and stated, "The code-matching and loyalty competition of investigative agencies without fairness or principles have gone too far," adding, "It resembles a military dictatorship trampling political opponents with bayonets, now using legal technicians to suppress critics."
Regarding the recent decision by the prosecution to clear Prosecutor General Han Dong-hoon of charges, Yoon criticized, "It is a highly unfair investigation that abandons law and principles. It ignored overwhelming evidence such as recordings and call logs and granted immunity to the closest aides of the president-elect."
Yoon further said, "While investigations against the Moon Jae-in administration and the ruling party were lightning-fast, those against the president-elect's close aides and his spouse Kim Geon-hee remain immovable and unresponsive," and pointed out, "Recently, the media has been flooded with embarrassing constitutional articles surrounding Kim, seemingly in line with the investigative agencies' deference to the president-elect."
He continued, "What the public is curious about is not Kim's shoe brand," emphasizing, "We want to know the truth about the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case, how and to what extent Kim plagiarized her thesis, her academic background, career, and the truth behind the forgery allegations." This was interpreted as criticism of reports on the 5th by some media outlets that clothes and slippers worn by First Lady Kim Geon-hee in photos released on the 4th had sold out.

Yoon also stated, "The Democratic Party will thoroughly erase the shadow of prosecutorial dictatorship through reform legislation.
