At the 10th Data Special Committee Meeting, Chairman Yoon Seong-ro and private and government committee members attended and held a pre-event 'COVID-19 Time Capsule Alliance Signing Ceremony' to establish a 'COVID-19 Time Capsule' through public-private cooperation.
The main agenda items discussed included 'Suggestions for Improving Personal Information Protection Systems,' 'Suggestions for Revitalizing Data Transactions,' and 'Results of COVID-19 Time Capsule Data Investigation and Selection.' These included ▲system improvements requiring mid- to long-term review for the safe use of data containing personal information ▲measures to revitalize the data exchange market ▲methods to keep detailed records of information recognized as important among COVID-19 data.
Meanwhile, at the Data Special Committee meeting, as a pre-event, the 'COVID-19 Time Capsule Alliance' signing ceremony was held and officially launched to jointly preserve and utilize COVID-19 data generated not only by the public sector but also by the private sector.
The alliance was formed to build a high-quality COVID-19 time capsule through efficient public-private cooperation by adding major private data such as sales and lifestyle changes to the existing public data selected as preservation targets for the COVID-19 time capsule.

Alliance participating companies will provide and disclose lists of COVID-19 related data they hold and participate in related research, policy formulation, and projects. Through this, it will be used for crisis response in the event of the emergence of new infectious diseases similar to COVID-19, as well as for mid- to long-term changes and predictions such as public life and demographic changes.
