Korea's First 'Dividend Stock Fund' Achieves 618% Return Over 20 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Korea's first dividend stock fund, 'Baring High Dividend Securities Investment Company (Stock) Class A,' has celebrated its 20th anniversary since launch.
Baring Asset Management announced on the 5th that the fund, established in April 2002, has recorded a return of 617.61% since inception. The returns by period are 40.80% over 3 years, 41.61% over 5 years, and 118.73% over 10 years, outperforming the KOSPI returns. The return since the beginning of this year is approximately -1.99%.
Baring Asset Management self-assessed that, based on long-accumulated investment experience, deep understanding of dividend policies, and excellent know-how in selecting high dividend stocks, it has continuously delivered stable performance through numerous market up and down cycles.

Choi Sanghyun, Head of Equity Management at Baring Asset Management, said, "As the number of stock market participants has significantly increased, more companies are implementing active dividend policies, improving the investment environment for dividend stocks."
