Gyeonggi-do Provides Up to 12 Million KRW for Repair Costs of Old Detached Houses
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is conducting a pilot project to support home repairs for detached houses in five areas within the province: Bucheon, Anyang, Guri, Pyeongtaek, and Gimpo.
On the 5th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out the "Gyeonggi Province Detached House Repair Support Pilot Project," which provides 90% of the repair costs, up to a maximum of 12 million KRW, for detached houses over 20 years old located in areas that have been removed from redevelopment promotion districts.
The province will fully cover the costs without any personal contribution for vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients. However, houses with an official land price exceeding 900 million KRW or buildings violating laws and regulations are excluded from support.
Homeowners are responsible for only 10% of the repair costs, but if there is a tenant, they must guarantee residence for four years from the date of the lease contract and must not pass on the personal contribution costs to the tenant.
To maximize the effect of improving the residential environment, the province prioritizes support recipients in the order of vulnerable groups, households with income below 100% of the median income, and general households.
