Park Yong-jin "Yoon Transition Team's 'Kkirikkiri' Power Sharing... Will Remaining 3 Minister Positions Be Filled by Ahn Cheol-soo Faction?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 3rd, Park Yong-jin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the transition committee of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol, saying it is "showing a feast of power-sharing among cliques." He then sharpened his criticism toward the transition committee, questioning whether it is appropriate to view the election of Park Du-seon, who worked at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for 36 years, as a "land grab" by the current administration, while the transition committee's power-sharing is considered acceptable.
On that day, Park posted on his Facebook with the title "'Pre-arranged power-sharing collusion' is acceptable, but is the internal appointment of a CEO in a private company a land grab?" and made these remarks.
Park said, "Among the transition committee members, one-third are from the Ahn Cheol-soo faction, appointed with the Seoul National University, 50s, male (Seo Onam) personnel," adding, "There are widespread rumors that the three ministerial positions will also be filled by the Ahn Cheol-soo faction."
He pointed out, "Instead of renowned experts in each field, politicians such as Kim Han-gil, Park Joo-sun, Lee Yong-ho, and Kim Byung-joon, who helped in the election, occupy seats in the transition committee and various important positions," and criticized, "Although meritocracy was claimed as the personnel principle, only one out of 24 transition committee members is from Honam. Does this mean there are no capable people from Honam? It is also appropriate to point out that there is no one representing the younger generation."
He also criticized, "Despite the exposure of abusive and sexually derogatory remarks by certain transition committee members against lawyer Cho Sang-gyu, who was dismissed from the transition committee, no action was taken."
Park emphasized, "Meanwhile, calling the appointment of a CEO who worked at Daewoo Shipbuilding for 36 years a 'land grab' is inappropriate. As we know, Daewoo Shipbuilding has experienced three years of turmoil related to its sale, so a CEO who is trusted within the industry and not opposed by the labor union must come to quickly stabilize the organization."
Park said, "The problem is not a land grab but collusion," and criticized, "The real issue is showing pre-arranged power-sharing collusion among politicians without any concern while claiming meritocracy and performance-based appointments."
