An Min-seok: "'Gaeddal, Yangadeul' and Other Youth Joining Rush... Voting Rights Must Be Granted to New Party Members"
Over 200,000 Young Members Join Party 20 Years After No-pung
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 3rd, Ahn Min-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "It is truly a miracle that about 200,000 young party members voluntarily joined the Democratic Party after the 'No Wind' phenomenon in 20 years," and "I propose a special measure to grant primary voting rights to new members starting from the June 1 local election primaries to party members and the Democratic Party leadership."

These new members, commonly called 'Gaeddal' and 'Yangadeul'," and added, "The Democratic Party must prepare so that young people can become the true owners of the party."
The term 'Gaeddal' mentioned by Ahn refers to female supporters in their 20s and 30s who support Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's standing advisor, and it means 'strong-willed daughter.'
However, these new members do not have voting rights in the local elections. Ahn emphasized, "Unfortunately, they do not have voting rights in the August party convention. They also do not have voting rights in this local election," adding, "This is due to the regulation that grants voting rights only after six months of party fee payment, but there is a precedent of changing it to three months in the past, so it is not impossible."
He then said, "I propose a special measure to grant primary voting rights to new members starting from this local election primary to party members and the Democratic Party leadership."

Ahn also stated, "It is reasonable to grant primary voting rights to members of the New Wave Party, which candidate Kim Dong-yeon founded." Regarding candidate Kim, he said, "It is unfair for a player who entered the field knowing the rules in advance to suddenly ask to change the rules in their favor. Let's boldly entrust the Democratic Party to the sea of party members and throw ourselves all in."
