View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Presidential Transition Committee has established an Urban Housing Supply Task Force (TF) with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Seoul Metropolitan Government as part of the real estate policy TF action plan.
Won Il-hee, the senior deputy spokesperson of the Transition Committee, stated at a briefing at the committee's office in Tongui-dong, Seoul, on the 1st, that the Urban Housing Supply TF was created with the goal of "rapidly supplying housing where there is demand."
Senior Deputy Spokesperson Won explained, "The goal is to implement rapid housing supply where there is demand," adding, "Please understand this as the first measure to implement the opinions that came out of the Transition Committee's real estate TF on the 30th of last month."
Earlier, President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol pledged during his presidential campaign to supply 2.5 million housing units. He said, "The TF plans to prepare concrete business plans to achieve the president-elect's pledge."
According to Senior Deputy Spokesperson Won, the TF is preparing the following: ▲ First-home housing near subway stations ▲ Cost-price housing for youth ▲ A roadmap for housing supply in Seoul where demand is high ▲ Identification of pilot project sites and establishment of business plans.

He added, "The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport establishes the necessary systems, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government implements the required permits and approvals, which is why the two institutions have formed the TF."
