Including Coil Rebar... "Contributing to Market Revitalization"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Dongkuk Steel announced on the 1st that starting this month, it will sell coil rebar 'DKOIL' on 'Steel Shop,' an online sales platform, becoming the first domestic steel company to do so.
According to Dongkuk Steel, while rebar has been available for e-commerce transactions on Steel Shop since December last year, this is the first time for coil rebar. After initiating e-commerce for rebar and leading non-face-to-face marketing for bar-shaped steel products, the company has expanded its product lineup to include coil rebar. Steel Shop is a non-face-to-face online steel sales platform launched by Dongkuk Steel in May last year.
Coil rebar is a product made by coiling rebar. Unlike rod-shaped rebar products, the coil can be unrolled and cut to the desired length. It features high cost competitiveness by increasing productivity through automated rebar processing and minimizing product loss. DKOIL is Dongkuk Steel's coil rebar brand.
Dongkuk Steel plans to focus on revitalizing the steel e-commerce market by selling various items rather than simply increasing sales. Through Steel Shop's DKOIL sales, it aims to improve purchasing convenience for those who have difficulty securing coil rebar due to transaction methods or conditions. On Steel Shop, all standard sizes of coil rebar products commercialized domestically, as well as products with non-standard dimensions, can be ordered. It is also configured to allow the purchase of 'seismic-resistant DKOIL.' The seismic-resistant DKOIL is also a product developed first in Korea by Dongkuk Steel and is used for seismic-resistant building materials, which have seen increased demand recently.
