Jeonbuk Governor Song Ha-jin Declares Candidacy for Third Term

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Song Ha-jin, Governor of Jeonbuk Province, officially declared his candidacy for a third term on the 31st.

At a press conference held on the same day, Governor Song stated, “Through continuous inquiry and accumulation of experience, evolution and development can lead to policies with a higher chance of success,” adding, “I will strive to accelerate the industrial innovation revolution and lead Jeonbuk to enter the ‘Top 10 Metropolitan Economic Zones’ by 2026.”

Governor Song presented his vision for running for a third term, saying, “We are currently facing numerous era-defining challenges that are overwhelming even to list.”

He identified the following priorities: △ overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic and restoring a healthy daily life while successfully transforming lifestyles △ protecting the health and safety of residents and realizing a carbon-neutral society △ achieving functional integration among local governments and promoting administrative integration such as between Jeonju and Wanju △ alleviating conflicts between classes, urban and rural areas, regions, and generations to maintain a harmonious community.

Additionally, he mentioned △ laying the foundation for genuine resident happiness by establishing local autonomy, substantial fiscal decentralization, and integrated balanced development △ fulfilling policy pledges, resolving unfinished issues such as the public medical graduate school and the financial hub.

Furthermore, he emphasized the responsibility to successfully carry out large-scale and new projects, including the construction of all-directional SOC infrastructure, building a foundation for innovative industrial growth, and the smooth preparation and successful hosting of the World Jamboree and the Asia-Pacific Masters Games.

Governor Song added, “Based on the beauty of completion, I aim to pursue the beauty of creation,” and “With an attitude of consistency (Il-yi-gwan-ji, 一以貫之), I hope to earn the trust of the residents once again.”
