Park Jae-wan, Former Minister, Appointed Chairman of Korea & Company Board of Directors
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Korea & Company announced on the 31st that it has appointed Park Jae-wan, Honorary Professor at Sungkyunkwan University, as an outside director and chairman of the board.
The company decided to strengthen board-centered management and improve corporate governance under a system where the outside director serves as the chairman of the board. The newly appointed chairman, Park, has served as Minister of Strategy and Finance, Minister of Employment and Labor, and Senior Secretary for National Planning. He is regarded as an expert in finance and the public sector, having worked as chairman of the board, chairman of the audit committee, and chairman of the sustainability management committee at Samsung Electronics. Chairman Park will also serve as chairman of the audit committee.

Additionally, Jeon Byung-jun, an outside director and advisor at SK Innovation, and Lee Han-sang, a professor at Korea University, were respectively appointed as chairman of the Outside Director Candidate Recommendation Committee and chairman of the Internal Transactions Committee.
