[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] On the 21st, the search team for China Eastern Airlines flight MU 5735, which crashed, reportedly found about 10 marriage certificates at the accident site, according to Chinese media.
The state-run Global Times, citing Nanning TV in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, reported on the 31st that the search team collected about 10 marriage certificates at the crash site of China Eastern Airlines flight MU 5735.
Chinese media expressed sorrow, stating that Kunming, Yunnan Province, is a city with beautiful natural scenery and a famous tourist destination, and that newlyweds were on their way back from taking wedding photos in Kunming when the accident occurred.
A police officer involved in the search operation said, "It was very difficult to see the collected marriage certificate photos," adding that the presence of marriage certificates means the victims of the accident were newlywed couples.
The victims recovered from the accident site are currently at a funeral home in Wuzhou City, and Chinese media reported that it will take considerable time to confirm their identities.
On the 21st, at around 1:10 PM, a China Eastern Airlines passenger plane took off from Kunming Changshui Airport in Yunnan Province, heading to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport in Guangdong Province, but crashed around 2:21 PM in a mountainous area near Teng County, Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
