Hyundai Elevator Opens API... "Expanding Horizons"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hyundai Elevator unveiled an open API (Application Programming Interface) on the 31st that allows integration of elevators with various services.
An API is an interface that enables the creation of applications using operating systems, systems, applications, libraries, and more. An open API provides an environment that is publicly accessible to anyone.
The open API introduced by Hyundai Elevator is a standardized interface centered on elevators, allowing services to be provided without separate development when linking with various external systems or devices such as robots, artificial intelligence (AI) speakers, and smartphones.
Currently, services available through the open API include ‘robot integration,’ where robots can call the elevator, board it, and deliver food or goods, and ‘remote call,’ which allows calling the elevator via AI speakers within households. There are plans to expand to management services that control elevators according to situations such as disasters or crimes by linking with building management systems, as well as to home networks.
System and device companies wishing to develop services linked with Hyundai Elevator can access the portal site and use the open API after completing the registration process.
Previously, Hyundai Elevator signed agreements starting with KT in June last year, followed by Woowa Brothers in July, and LG Electronics in August, promoting integration with AI voice recognition devices, service robots, and smart building solutions.
