Public Procurement Service to Hold 'Nara Market Win-Win Sale' Next Month... 500 Companies and 7,800 Products Participating
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Public Procurement Service (PPS) will hold the ‘Nara Market Win-Win Sale’ next month.
On the 30th, PPS announced that the ‘2022 First Half Nara Market Win-Win Sale,’ a discount sales event on the Nara Market comprehensive shopping mall, will be held from the 4th to the 29th of next month.
The Win-Win Sale is an event where participating suppliers to public institutions sell their products at discounted prices to public institutions.
The Win-Win Sale has been held once a year since 2017, but starting last year, the number of events was increased to twice a year to support procurement companies struggling due to COVID-19. This year, the Win-Win Sale will be held once each in the first and second halves of the year.
The number of participating companies increased by 67%, from 300 in the second half of last year to 500 in the first half of this year, and the number of products increased by 52%, from 5,121 to 7,800 during the same period.
The average discount rate for products sold during the sale period is 11.8%, with the largest portion being products discounted between 10% and 15%, totaling 2,782 items (35.8%).
PPS plans to revamp the product mall page and conduct multifaceted promotional activities to expand participation and convenience for demand institutions.
A dedicated ‘Win-Win Sale’ mall will be opened on Nara Market to facilitate access for user institutions, and discounted event products will be prioritized in product searches.
Kim Jeong-woo, Administrator of PPS, said, “To support small and medium enterprises struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we will ensure that public procurement plays a catalytic role. We also urge public institutions to actively participate in the Win-Win Sale as an opportunity for early budget execution and cost-effective purchasing.”
