A man in his 50s died of carbon monoxide poisoning while sleeping after lighting a fire in a tent with his wife.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A couple in their 50s camping on Yeongheungdo Island in Incheon suffered carbon monoxide poisoning after lighting charcoal inside their tent and falling asleep, resulting in the husband's death and the wife sustaining serious injuries.
According to the Jungbu Police Station in Incheon on the 29th, at 12:03 PM that day, a report was received by 119 that a man in his 50s, Mr. A, and a woman, Ms. B, were found collapsed inside a tent at a campsite in Yeongheung-myeon, Jung-gu, Incheon.
They were transported to the hospital by firefighters who arrived at the scene, but Mr. A ultimately passed away. Ms. B is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A and his wife had been camping with another couple since the 27th, and on the 28th, while sleeping in the tent with charcoal burning in a heating stove, the accident occurred.
The group camping with Mr. A and his wife became concerned when the couple did not come out of the tent by 11:30 AM on the 29th, opened the tent, found them collapsed, and reported it.

The police stated that Mr. A died from carbon monoxide poisoning and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
