Transition Team Reports to KMA... Discusses Measures to Minimize Climate Change Damage
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] On the 29th, the Social Welfare and Culture Subcommittee of the Presidential Transition Committee received a briefing from the Korea Meteorological Administration at the transition office in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Attending the briefing were Im Eija, a member of the People Power Party and secretary of the Social Welfare and Culture Subcommittee, transition committee members Kim Dosik, Ahn Sanghoon, and Baek Kyungran, as well as the deputy director and heads of departments and bureaus from the Korea Meteorological Administration.
The attendees exchanged opinions on measures to minimize damage caused by climate change to achieve the "safe country for all" emphasized by President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol.
They also reviewed ways to establish a faster earthquake and tsunami monitoring and communication system.
The attendees discussed detailed climate change forecast information necessary for carbon neutrality, a pledge made by President-elect Yoon.
