Citizen Donations Continue for the Successful Hosting of the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo
Donation Delivery by Namdo Transportation, Lilac Volunteer Group, and Saesimo Volunteer Club, Appointment of Citizen Public Ambassadors
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Voluntary donations from Suncheon citizens continue to be delivered for the successful hosting of the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo.
The Expo Organizing Committee announced on the 29th that Namdo Transportation (CEO Lee Won-jae) donated 5 million won, and the Lilac Volunteer Group (President Kang Sun-im) and Saesimo Volunteer Club (President Lee Jeong-seon) donated 3 million won and 2 million won respectively.
On this day, the Organizing Committee appointed Namdo Transportation CEO Lee Won-jae, the Lilac Volunteer Group, and the Saesimo Volunteer Club, who donated funds, as citizen public ambassadors.
Citizen public ambassadors are appointed as passionate individuals active in the region who will actively support the successful hosting of the Garden Expo.
Lee Won-jae, CEO of Namdo Transportation, said, “We expect the 2023 Garden Expo to be a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy,” and added, “As a taxi company, we will continue to contribute to the successful hosting of the Garden Expo through kind services.”
Kang Sun-im, president of the Lilac Volunteer Group, said, “We made a donation to help, even if small, with the successful hosting of the Garden Expo, which is the most urgent project in the region,” and expressed, “As a volunteer organization, we will do our best in various fields of the 2023 Garden Expo.”
Lee Jeong-seon, president of the Saesimo Volunteer Club, said, “I am glad to have been able to help even a little with the successful hosting of the 2023 Garden Expo,” and added, “We will take the lead so that the Garden Expo can be an event where all citizens participate together.”
Heo Seok, mayor of Suncheon, said, “I am very grateful for the united hearts and minds of Suncheon citizens, including taxi operators and volunteer groups, and we will do our best for the successful hosting of the Garden Expo,” and added, “We hope for active participation and interest so that Suncheon can become Korea’s first garden city through the Garden Expo.”
Meanwhile, Namdo Transportation, a taxi operating company, has been steadily engaged in volunteer activities for the local community, including Red Cross volunteer activities, inter-Korean exchange activities through the Suncheon City Council, and support projects for people with severe disabilities such as a 50% discount on taxi fares.

The Lilac Volunteer Group was founded in 2019 and has carried out many activities such as mask distribution campaigns and kit packaging for citizens struggling due to COVID-19, city-wide plogging campaigns, volunteer activities at mask distribution stores, and volunteer work in flood-affected areas. The Saesimo Volunteer Club was launched in 2020 and actively engages in activities such as sharing side dishes for neighbors in need, environmental cleanup, and rural volunteer work.
