The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 29th that it has recognized Kim Bongsun, the holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Yangju Sonori Gut, as an honorary holder. Kim was recognized as the holder of Yangju Sonori Gut in 2013 and has devoted herself to preservation, transmission, and dissemination. Recently, due to health issues making active participation difficult, the Cultural Heritage Administration registered her as an honorary holder in recognition of her transmission activities and contributions. A representative from the Cultural Heritage Administration stated, "We will continue to honor elderly holders who have devoted themselves to transmission by recognizing them as honorary holders, and we will steadily improve the transmission environment and treatment so that they can feel a sense of fulfillment and pride."
