Gyeonggi-do Offers Up to 100 Million KRW Support for Sharing Meeting Rooms and Commute Buses in Industrial Complexes
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do will provide up to 100 million KRW in support for sharing meeting rooms or commuting buses within industrial complexes.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 29th that it will recruit organizations to participate in the "Industrial Complex Sharing Economy Activation Project" until the 11th of next month.
This project aims to support project expenses when small and medium-sized enterprise councils or cooperatives promote sharing of idle spaces such as meeting rooms, rest areas, logistics warehouses, joint leasing of high-priced equipment, operation of shared commuting buses, sharing of professional services such as lawyers and accountants, and sharing of community and education platforms among members. The province has been conducting this project since 2018.
Depending on the project type, the province will select and support two multi-party cooperation organizations and two single organizations. Multi-party cooperation organizations can receive up to 100 million KRW, while single organizations can receive up to 40 million KRW.
The multi-party cooperation type is a matching investment (support) project involving basic local governments, private companies, and corporate councils. The single type is an independent project by the industrial complex management organization.
Eligible applicants include institutions entrusted with industrial complex management tasks within the province, small and medium-sized enterprise cooperatives with their main office located in Gyeonggi-do, and other small and medium-sized enterprise councils within Gyeonggi-do industrial complexes or factory-dense areas.
Meanwhile, there are 186 industrial complexes in the province housing 31,110 companies. This accounts for 23.3% of all manufacturing companies in Gyeonggi-do and about 44.3% of the province's regional gross production. The province expects this project to provide new momentum for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises within industrial complexes.
