Deputy Press Secretary Jean-Pierre stated in a statement on the night of the 27th (local time), "After returning from President Biden's European trip, I took a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test," and "The test result was confirmed positive." She is currently reported to be experiencing mild symptoms. She plans to return to work after completing a 5-day quarantine period while working from home.
