This year's Jeonnam Youth Sports Festival is hosted by the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and organized by the Jeonnam Sports Council and member sports organizations, taking place at 31 venues across 10 cities and counties in the province, including Naju Sports Park, with a total of 1,775 student athletes participating.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, the competition is divided into four events before and four events after the main period, running over seven weeks from last month's boxing event on the 11th to the golf event concluding on the 26th of next month.
In addition to promoting school sports and discovering new athletes, this year's festival also serves as the 2nd and 3rd preliminary rounds to select athletes who will participate in the 51st National Youth Sports Festival to be held in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
