Emart conducted a pilot replacement of work vehicles at the Seongsu branch in November last year and plans to sequentially replace all 160 vehicles from the 30th of this month until the end of August. Through this electric vehicle replacement, it is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 1,100 tons annually and achieve the effect of planting 400,000 new pine trees each year.
Emart operates about 460 electric vehicle chargers at 118 stores nationwide. SSG.com introduced electric delivery vehicles equipped with a cold chain (low-temperature distribution system) in 2020, and after pilot operations, currently has about 90 electric vehicles in operation.
