Legoland Korea Resort Appoints Phil Roile as Former Legoland Development Executive President
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Legoland Korea Resort announced on the 28th that it has appointed Phil Roil, former Executive Director of Legoland Development, as its new president.
Phil Roil, the former Executive Director of Development, will succeed President Kim Youngpil, who has served since 2015, and has worked closely with President Kim on Korean business matters over the past two years.
New President Phil Roil is a figure with over 21 years of experience at Merlin Entertainment, the parent company of Legoland Korea Resort, and joined Legoland Korea Resort as Executive Director of Development in January 2020. Previously, he held executive positions at Legoland Resort, Legoland Discovery Center, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and the London Eye.
Before joining Legoland Korea Resort, he served as Executive Director of Development and Operations responsible for the opening of Legoland New York Resort, gaining extensive experience in resort operations, health and safety, brand management, and corporate events.
President Phil Roil said, “I have been involved in this project since its early development stage,” and expressed his excitement, stating, “I am thrilled that we can finally introduce Legoland Korea Resort on Children’s Day, May 5th.”
