Police Form Serious Accident Task Force... Establish Safety and Health Management System by Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The police announced on the 28th that they have established a response task force (TF) team and set up a safety and health management system for each station in line with the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act this year.
According to the police, the National Police Agency newly established the Serious Accident Response TF under the General Affairs Officer as an organization dedicated to serious accident-related matters, appointing the General Affairs Personnel Planning Officer and the General Affairs Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency as safety and health management officers. A total of 637 supervisors, including general affairs, facilities, and accounting managers belonging to field workers at each station, were designated as managers.
The National Police Agency, Seoul, Busan, Southern Gyeonggi, and Chungbuk Police Agencies, the Human Resources Development Institute, the Central Police Academy, and the Police Hospital will be entrusted to safety and health management specialized institutions designated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to receive regular inspections in the fields of safety and health management. The National Police Agency and Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will hold the Industrial Safety and Health Committee once every quarter, while other stations will hold the Industrial Safety and Health Meeting once every half year.

The police plan to conduct education by setting mandatory training hours and methods for each target group according to the safety and health management education operation plan. Additionally, next month, guidelines for subcontracting, outsourcing, and consignment, as well as a collection of safety and health-related laws, will be prepared, and in May, a manual for responding to serious accidents will be developed.
