President-elect Yoon intends to bring up the issue of COVID-19 loss compensation during a dinner meeting with President Moon Jae-in to obtain President Moon's consent for the execution of the supplementary budget.
Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the president-elect, stated in a briefing that "there are many pressing livelihood issues, but especially the issue of COVID-19 loss compensation promised to the people, for which we expect to request cooperation and support from the Blue House."
In a Q&A session with reporters, Spokesperson Kim added, "The president-elect has said that when the government causes damage to the people through business restrictions, social distancing, or administrative orders, the state has an obligation to duly provide loss compensation," and "I believe the current government will also empathize deeply with the most urgent and desperate COVID-19 issues faced by the people and act responsibly."

She continued, "The supplementary budget of 50 trillion won was a promise to the people, intended to empower them to stand up, and I want to believe that the current government will also empathize with and support the justification of this part of extending a helping hand."
