Amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Automobile Management Act, Increase Up to 600,000 Won and About Double
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced that due to the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Automobile Management Act, the penalty for delayed vehicle inspection will increase starting April 14.
Vehicles that complete the inspection after April 14 will be required to pay the increased penalty.
The county vehicle service center stated that the penalty for inspections delayed within 30 days after the deadline will be adjusted from 20,000 KRW to 40,000 KRW, and the amount imposed every 3 days after 30 days will be adjusted from 10,000 KRW to 20,000 KRW.
The maximum penalty imposed when more than 115 days have passed since the expiration date of the inspection validity period will increase from 300,000 KRW to 600,000 KRW.
The service center is sending advance notices and posting announcements at local vehicle inspection stations and town and township bulletin boards to prevent disadvantages to vehicle inspection targets and local residents and to minimize confusion.

A representative from the Haman-gun Vehicle Service Center said, “Private vehicles must be inspected 4 years after new registration and then once every 2 years, while commercial, passenger, and cargo vehicles must be inspected once every year or every 6 months depending on the vehicle type and age.
