Idonseung, Wanju County Governor Preliminary Candidate, "I Will Promote 'Finding a New Wanju Share'!"
Presentation of pledges including changing the name of the large corporation factory, attracting public institutions, and establishing the Wanju branch
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Lee Don-seung, a preliminary candidate for Wanju County Governor (Democratic Party), announced on the 25th that he will promote ‘Finding a New Share for Wanju’ by changing the names of corporate factories, attracting public institutions, and separating the Wanju branches of institutions.
Candidate Lee promised to drive the foundation for city (si) elevation through ‘Finding a New Share for Wanju,’ which is a step forward while inheriting the 6th and 7th local governments.
First, Candidate Lee emphasized that the names of large corporate factories located in Wanju County will be changed to ‘Wanju Factory.’
He pointed out that although factories of Hyundai Motor, KCC, LS Mtron, Hite Jinro Beer, and others are clearly located in Wanju County, it is unreasonable that their names are called ‘Jeonju Factory.’
This is because, except for Hite Jinro Beer, most factories are located in the Wanju Industrial Complex, but at the time most companies moved in, this area was called Jeonju 3rd Industrial Complex.
According to Candidate Lee, if the large corporate factories are renamed ‘Wanju Factory,’ it will not only enhance Wanju County’s urban brand but also bring intangible economic effects.
Along with this, Candidate Lee also proposed attracting public institutions and separating and establishing Wanju branches of institutions.
During the 6th and 7th local governments, Wanju Office of Education, Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation Wanju Branch, and Wanju County Forestry Cooperative have moved or are in the process of moving to a complex administrative town, but the relocation or establishment of the Rural Development Administration Wanju Branch, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Wanju County Branch, and National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service Wanju Office is still far off.
Among these, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Wanju County Branch has only heard plans for separating the Jeonju and Wanju branches, but there is no concrete movement. The Agricultural Products Quality Management Service covers Jeonju and Wanju from the Jeonbuk branch office, but offices are installed in the other 12 cities and counties.
Candidate Lee added that he will actively promote plans to attract forest-related public institutions that can efficiently manage and convert forest resources, which account for 72% of the total area.
Candidate Lee said, “‘Finding a New Share for Wanju’ does not require a large-scale budget and is possible through sincerity and continuous effort,” adding, “Since it is an important factor in preparing for city (si) elevation, I will prioritize this as the top task if elected as county governor.”
