Genome&Company Appoints Seo Young-jin as New CEO... Restructures to Three Co-CEO System
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwanju] Genome & Company announced on the 25th that it held a board meeting and appointed Vice President Seo Youngjin as the new CEO. Accordingly, Genome & Company reorganized into a three-person co-CEO system with Bae Jisoo, Park Hansoo, and Seo Youngjin.
New CEO Seo Youngjin graduated from Korea University College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine specialist training at the university hospital. He also completed an MBA program at Duke University. Afterwards, he established management strategies for domestic and international pharmaceutical and bio companies at the global management strategy consulting firm Bain & Company. In June 2018, he joined Genome & Company and led the successful KONEX listing and transfer listing to KOSDAQ.
Genome & Company plans to focus its growth capabilities based on expertise through the co-CEO system. CEO Bae Jisoo will focus on global business development including technology transfer of pipelines under development by Genome & Company, as well as the operation and management of overseas and new businesses including the newly entered CDMO business. CEO Seo Youngjin will focus on the operation and management of existing businesses and internal organizations together with CEO Bae. Meanwhile, CEO Park Hansoo will continue to focus on research and development of the microbiome and new target immuno-oncology drug pipelines as before.
