SK Hynix Launches Next-Generation Semiconductor Talent Development in Collaboration with Sogang University

On the 25th, SK Hynix and Sogang University announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding the day before to foster next-generation semiconductor talent. Through this agreement, Sogang University will establish a 'Department of System Semiconductor Engineering' within the College of Engineering, based on the Department of Electronic Engineering, to jointly cultivate semiconductor specialists with SK Hynix.
The signing ceremony was attended by SK Hynix's Kim Dong-seop, President of External Cooperation; Shin Sang-gyu, Vice President of Corporate Culture; Kim Yun-wook, Vice President of Sustainable Management; Kim Hyung-hwan, Vice President of Tech Talent; as well as Sogang University President Shim Jong-hyuk, Vice President of Academic Affairs Song Tae-kyung, Vice President of External Affairs Kim Soon-gi, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation Jung Hyun-sik, and Dean of the College of Engineering Choi Jung-woo.
Through the agreement, Sogang University will establish a contract department called 'Department of System Semiconductor Engineering' within the College of Engineering with a capacity of 30 students and will select the first freshmen by the end of this year. The faculty at Sogang University will design the new department's curriculum specialized in design and semiconductor software required by SK Hynix, focusing on cultivating corporate-tailored semiconductor professionals.
Selected students will receive full tuition support from SK Hynix, and employment at SK Hynix will be linked after graduation. Additionally, SK Hynix will jointly participate in overall academic operations such as student selection and educational support.

Kim Dong-seop, President of SK Hynix, said, “As the pace of advanced technology development accelerates, the demand for outstanding talent across the entire semiconductor industry is rapidly increasing,” adding, “We expect excellent semiconductor talents who will excel on the global stage to emerge through Sogang University's outstanding education system.”
