Gwangju Regional Public Procurement Service Holds Meeting with Traditional Cultural Product Companies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 23rd, the Gwangju Regional Public Procurement Service held a meeting with master artisans of important intangible cultural assets in our region to prepare measures for the succession and development of traditional cultural products and to expand support for market access.
The meeting was attended by Go Seong-bae, president of the Government Procurement Cultural Products Association, along with traditional cultural product companies located in our region, aiming to discover new cultural products and devise plans to expand public procurement through the Korea ON-line E-Procurement System (KONEPS).
The companies attending the meeting expressed that they are facing increasing difficulties due to rising raw material prices amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and requested that the Gwangju Procurement Service actively strengthen promotion and support for market access of cultural products targeting local governments and education offices.

Kim Gong-jin, head of the Gwangju Procurement Service, stated, “We will actively reflect the requests made at the meeting and strengthen promotional activities,” adding, “We will do our best to serve as a catalyst so that traditional cultural products befitting the symbol of our region, Bitgoeul, can enter and grow in the public procurement market.”
